While my husband was out at his late night hockey game this evening, I took the time to make him a special card for his birthday this week. If it was anyone else I'd hesitate to share it here first, but if you know my husband, you know that while the rest of humanity is progressing into the 21st century, he is falling a little closer to the stone age every day. In fact, recently, he came home and asked me if I knew anything about 'this blogging thing' that he had heard about at his teacher's pro-d day lol. So without further ado, here is a project that I am beyond stoked about, both as the #1 Canucks fan (although my husband tells me that's debatable because he is), and a stamper trying a whole bunch of new things for the first time... oh ya, and knowing how awesomely excited Brian will be when he receives this card!

I modeled the card after the logo and stripes on his wedding jersey and it turned out pretty accurate. Here are some closeups as the skates (made with stocking builder punch) in particular are very detailed and I thought the Canvas background stamp (retired) looked just like the mesh on our jerseys:
As you can see there's a whole lotta punch art going on with this one, I'll come back with some more details on the skates in particular in the future, let me know what you think for now off to bed so I can have some energy to bake his cake when I get home from work!
Oh and here's the jersey you can compare :)... and perhaps ponder whether Gavin's falling down, or sneaking out from under the head table... or?
Cheers!
Love your Canucks card - might have to borrow that for the fans in our house! Would love to know how you did the skates! Cheers from another Victoria ...
